Ethan Schmitz gave up the fewest earned runs he has since back in May of 2024 on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Schmitz's strong effort led New Holstein over Roncalli and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies are 9-1 against the Jets going back to May of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
