Baseball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Gilbert Classical Academy lost against Santa Cruz Valley back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans came up short against the Dust Devils, falling 23-5. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ryan Roco made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Gilbert Classical Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-2-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Hobey Hartman, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Gilbert Classical Academy now has a losing record of 2-3-1. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Gilbert Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 17-0 loss against San Tan Charter on the 26th. As for Santa Cruz Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-1 win against ALA - Anthem South on the 26th.
