Baseball Recap: Christian Comes Up Short

Christian was the 3-1 winner over Scripps Ranch when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Logan Major put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Scripps Ranch, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian will square off against Coronado at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 3.4, the Islanders 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Scripps Ranch, they will challenge St. Augustine at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Saints will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Falcons surely won't give up without a fight.
