Football Recap: New Rochelle Takes a Loss

New Rochelle lost against Arlington back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Huguenots lost to the Admirals at home by a 28-13 margin. While losing is never fun, the Huguenots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Admirals are ranked 131st).

Ryan Rancourt (C) was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 85 yards on only 12 carries, and also threw for 81 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 85 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Cyrus Cowings was in the mix as well, providing Arlington with two touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for New Rochelle and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Arlington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. New Rochelle will challenge rival North Rockland at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Arlington is set to face off against their familiar foe John Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
