Independence is a perfect 4-0 against Rosa Fort since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Independence Wildcats face off against Rosa Fort Lions at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Independence has four straight wins, Rosa Fort has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Independence's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Hickory Flat with a sharp 23-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won four contests by more than 12 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Rosa Fort came up short against West Bolivar on Wednesday, falling 36-12.

Keanah Jones was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Tykeria Armstrong also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Even though they lost, Rosa Fort always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .762. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Independence now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Rosa Fort, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8-1.

Independence took their win against Rosa Fort in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 19-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Independence since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
