Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Masuk

While Masuk put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Bunnell. The Panthers blew past the Bulldogs 11-0. With that victory, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Connor Fulchino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Steven Curtin, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ethan Fonck, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win was the third in a row for Masuk, bringing their record up to 10-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Bunnell, they dropped their record down to 8-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Masuk will welcome Kolbe-Cathedral at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.42 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bunnell, they will be playing at home against New Milford at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
