Softball Recap: St. George's Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northpoint Christian, St. George was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Trinity Christian Academy Lions.

Trinity Christian Academy's batters probably weren't too happy with Katie Wolaver, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 18 Ks (she gave up two walks). Wolaver has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, St. George's secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Laurel Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

St. George's is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.

St. George's didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Evangelical Christian on the 5th. Trinity Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
