Softball Recap: Fannett Metal Comes Up Short

Fannett Metal easily dispatched Mercersburg Academy last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Fannett Metal fell just short of the Rockwood Rockets by a score of 8-6 on Thursday. Fannett Metal was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rockwood apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Fannett Metal has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Rockwood, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coming up, Fannett Metal will challenge Windber at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rockwood, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-4 defeat against Shade on the 21st.
