Baseball Game Preview: Seabreeze Sandcrabs vs. Winter Springs Bears

The Seabreeze Sandcrabs will face off against the Winter Springs Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seabreeze is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Last Monday, Seabreeze didn't have quite enough to beat Lake Brantley and fell 4-3.

Seabreeze got a good showing from Jack Barron, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, Barron didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Seabreeze saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Cichowski, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Cichowski has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Winter Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past Seminole 9-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Winter Springs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. Seabreeze's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Seabreeze beat Winter Springs 5-2 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Does Seabreeze have another victory up their sleeve, or will Winter Springs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
