5A District 15 recap November 19, 2013

Immokalee scaled the state rankings by moving to 46 from 87 this week, the biggest jump in 5A District 15. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of topping Cardinal Gibbons 25-23.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Immokalee beat the Chiefs 25-23. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.

The Indians' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Louinelson Celian threw for 136 and 2 touchdowns and D'Ernest Johnson had 100 yards receiving. On the ground Johnson contributed 123 yards. J.C. Jackson helped Immokalee's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.

Johnson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 123 yards on 15 carries as Immokalee topped Cardinal Gibbons. Taeler Porter also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.

The Indians' Celian and Jackson led 5A District 15 in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Celian has thrown for 1,429 yards this season, while Jackson has 25 catches for 772 yards. Golden Gate's Isaiah D'Haiti leads the league in rushing yards with 1,088.

Lely lost to American Heritage 51-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
