Football Game Preview: Kingswood Oxford Wyverns vs. Rivers Red Wings

The Kingswood Oxford Wyverns will challenge the Rivers Red Wings at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Kingswood Oxford sitting on five straight wins and Rivers on six.

On Saturday, Kingswood Oxford made easy work of Canterbury School and carried off a 44-21 victory. The Wyverns pushed the score to 37-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Saints cut but never quite recovered from.

Kingswood Oxford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dj Biggins out in front who picked up 193 receiving yards and three TDs. Biggins showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 59 yards. Another back making a difference was Justin Morle, who rushed for 166 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

Kingswood Oxford was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

Kingswood Oxford's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Rivers got the win against Roxbury Latin on Saturday by a conclusive 28-7. The result was nothing new for the Red Wings, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Kingswood Oxford's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Rivers, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
