El Camino Real had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They had just enough and edged out the Birmingham Patriots 4-3 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Royals sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Devin Gonor looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, El Camino Real's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Julius Haim, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

El Camino Real's record is now 22-8. As for Birmingham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season.
