Basketball Game Preview: Oakwood Academy Mustangs vs. Pisgah Eagles

The Oakwood Academy Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Pisgah Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Oakwood Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 contests -- so hopefully Pisgah likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Oakwood Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Skyline, taking the game 63-55.

Oakwood Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Germono, who went 10 for 19 on his way to 24 points and three steals. The game was Germono's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Jadon Williams was another key player, going 5 of 6 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Pisgah might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Section an easy 74-54 victory. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Oakwood Academy pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points per game. As for Pisgah, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Oakwood Academy took their victory against Pisgah when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 85-65. Does Oakwood Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pisgah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
