Football Recap: Hampshire Falls to Jacobs in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Hampshire unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 53-13 loss at the hands of the Jacobs Golden Eagles on Friday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

Caden DuMelle was nothing short of spectacular for Jacobs: he rushed for 150 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. DuMelle's longest rush was for an impressive 52 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jack Coates got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Hampshire didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 42-14 victory against Crystal Lake Central on the 5th. As for Jacobs, they have also already played their next contest, a 33-22 loss against Prairie Ridge on the 5th.
