Volleyball Recap: Bernalillo Spartans vs. Del Norte Knights
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hope Christian, Bernalillo was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Del Norte Knights. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.
Bernalillo had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-15, 25-12, 25-16.

Bernalillo can attribute much of their success to Gabriella Sanchez, who had 20 digs. That's the most digs Sanchez has posted since back in September. Elliana Garcia also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Bernalillo was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive matchups.
Bernalillo's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Del Norte, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Coincidentally, Bernalillo and Del Norte will both be playing Albuquerque Academy the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
