Softball Recap: White Plains Comes Up Short

White Plains came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Alexandria Valley Cubs, falling 13-6. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Valley Cubs from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

White Plains moved to 8-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Alexandria, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Coming up, White Plains will venture away from home to take on Alexandria at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (White Plains 3.4, Alexandria 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Alexandria, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 loss against Sardis on the 8th.
