Baseball Recap: Marine City Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Marine City proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lake Shore Shorians 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Shorians: they've now won seven in a row.

Marine City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmet Hoski, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Hoski a new career-high.

Marine City's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Shore, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Marine City will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Shorians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
