Soccer Recap: Metairie Park Country Day Comes Up Short

After flying high against Crescent City Christian last Thursday, Metairie Park Country Day came back down to earth. The Metairie Park Country Day Cajuns came up short against the Newman Greenies on Saturday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Cajuns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Greenies are ranked fourth).

Metairie Park Country Day has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Newman, their victory bumped their record up to 17-0-1.

When Metairie Park Country Day and Newman next hit the pitch, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Metairie Park Country Day will take on Archbishop Shaw and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Newman will try to stop Jesuit's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
