Basketball Recap: Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers vs. Eastern Ramblers
Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 65-6 loss at the hands of the Eastern Ramblers. The Panthers lost against the Ramblers in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 2-0 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madisyn Butts, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Butts' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Labrea Carter, who went 7 for 10 on her way to 15 points in addition to six assists and five boards.
Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Eastern, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering will face off against School Without Walls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern, they will challenge McKinley Tech at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
