Basketball Recap: Dominic Cox-Giles' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Quaker Valley over Deer Lakes

Quaker Valley and Deer Lakes squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Quaker Valley had to settle for second. They lost 83-58 to the Deer Lakes Lancers. The Quakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lancers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Several Quakers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dominic Cox-Giles, who posted eight points and 15 rebounds. Cox-Giles has been hot, having posted 13 or more boards the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Harrison Kerley, who scored nine points and five assists.

Quaker Valley dropped their record down to 15-8 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Deer Lakes, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.

Quaker Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Deer Lakes, they will face off against North Catholic on Wednesday.
