Softball Game Preview: Merrill Bluejays vs. Wausau West Warriors

The Merrill Bluejays will square off against the Wausau West Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Merrill has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Merrill headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but La Crosse Logan let them put that streak behind them. The Bluejays narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rangers 15-13. The win continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Wausau West came up short against D.C. Everest on Tuesday and fell 6-2. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Merrill's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Wausau West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Merrill skirted past Wausau West 6-4 when the teams last played on April 8th. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
