Football Recap: White Cloud Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

White Cloud unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 57-0 defeat at the hands of the Shelby Tigers on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 59-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Shelby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Garcia, who picked up 72 receiving yards and one score, and also threw for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Garcia really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 72 yards. Brody Fessenden was another key rusher, rushing for 99 yards and two TDs on only ten carries.

Looking ahead, White Cloud will look to defend their home field on September 5 against Harrison at 7:00 p.m. As for Shelby, they will venture away from home to take on North Muskegon at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. The matchup will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
