Softball Recap: Mccallum Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

McCallum had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 10-9 W against the Bastrop Bears. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 5-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Nichelle Floyd was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Lucy Grantham was another key player, going 3-for-5 with four runs.

The win got McCallum back to even at 8-8. As for Bastrop, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. McCallum will square off against rival Navarro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bastrop is set to challenge their familiar foe Richards School for Young Women Leaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
