East Grand Rapids never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Ottawa Hills Bengals as they made off with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Pioneers have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Callan Royce looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Grand Rapids got a big performance out of Noah Reed, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Tripp DeBoer also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

East Grand Rapids always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ottawa Hills only posted an OBP of .100.

The win was the third in a row for East Grand Rapids, bringing their record up to 8-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ottawa Hills, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, East Grand Rapids will head out on the road to challenge Cedar Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ottawa Hills, they will host Forest Hills Northern at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
