The American Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the San Leandro Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with 11 losses in a row dating back to last season, American turned things around against Deer Valley on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 13-5 win. The Eagles not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27, 2024.

Amber Hillman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Hillman was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Mya Anderson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Daniela Furtado also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, San Leandro waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Farmers as they made off with a 16-1 victory. Considering the Pirates have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marley Santos was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Isabella Orozco was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

American's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for San Leandro, their record now sits at 9-1.
