Volleyball Game Preview: Wachusett Regional Mountaineers vs. Tewksbury Memorial Redmen

The Wachusett Regional Mountaineers will face off against the Tewksbury Memorial Redmen at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Wachusett Regional is returning to their home court after beating North Middlesex Regional on theirs, despite the fact North Middlesex Regional has dominated at home this season. The Mountaineers put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory on Tuesday. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Wachusett Regional never let North Middlesex Regional on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-22, 25-16.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Tewksbury Memorial and North Andover meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Redmen were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Scarlet Knights. The match marked the Redmen's most dominant victory of the season.

Wachusett Regional's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Tewksbury Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.
