Recap: Curtis Baptist Crusaders vs. Cambridge Academy Cougars
The Curtis Baptist Crusaders had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 52-39 victory over Cambridge Academy. For Curtis Baptist, this counts as revenge for the 36-29 defeat Cambridge Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Curtis Baptist found their leader in underclassman Maci Butler, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. Butler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyla Robinson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Curtis Baptist's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Cambridge Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.
Curtis Baptist will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson Davis Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Cambridge Academy, they will be playing at home against Easley HomeSchool at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
