Baseball Game Preview: Sweetwater Red Devils vs. Chula Vista Spartans

For the second straight game, Sweetwater will face off against Chula Vista. The Red Devils will challenge the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Sweetwater might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-1 to Chula Vista, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Chula Vista's part, Julian Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, Noah Gomez was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

The win (which was Chula Vista's third in a row) raised their record to 10-13. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Sweetwater, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
