The New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by a 72-52 margin over Sibley East. New Ulm Cathedral's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Jevan Wilfahrt had a dynamite game for New Ulm Cathedral, scoring 31 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Another player making a difference was Isaac Miller, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
New Ulm Cathedral's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sibley East, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Minnesota Valley Lutheran the next time they take the court. Sibley East will head out to face Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while New Ulm Cathedral will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
