Basketball Recap: North Johnston Takes a Loss

North Johnston played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 85-21 loss at the hands of the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 500th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 150th).

Despite the loss, North Johnston still got an impressive performance from Kaleb Pone, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Ben Cuddington, who put up four points.

This is the second loss in a row for North Johnston and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Southeast Raleigh, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

North Johnston and Raleigh Charter will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will square off against Eastern Wayne at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eastern Wayne's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
