Baseball Recap: Windham Whippets vs. Putnam Clippers
Windham was the 16-4 winner over Putnam when they last played one another back in May of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Whippets fell 8-3 to the Clippers on Saturday.
Alex Diaz-Guillen and Derek Perez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Diaz-Guillen went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Perez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brandon Holman, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Windham's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Putnam, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
