Basketball Recap: Rushville-Industry Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Rushville-Industry, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They secured a 47-43 W over the Hamilton/Warsaw Titans on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rockets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Titans are ranked 145th).

Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaia Figge, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals. Those ten points gave Figge a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dettriona Church, who went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points.

Rushville-Industry's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-9 record this season.

Rushville-Industry will head out to square off against Central/Southeastern at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. As for Hamilton/Warsaw, they will welcome Pleasant Hill/Western at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
