Nature Coast Tech (Brooksville, Fla.) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 10 points, drop to seven before the final whistle blew on a 19-12 victory over
Weeki Wachee (Fla.).
The Hornets pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
David Tinch, and subsequently went into halftime leading 9-7. The Sharks took the lead to win the game on a
Ryan Quigley touchdown pass to
Rohan Blackwood in the third quarter.
Weeki Wachee's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Tinch in the first quarter.
Nature Coast Tech entered the contest giving up 24.4 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding Weeki Wachee below its season average of 16.2 points scored per game.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Brooksville school, which lost to Forest last week, 21-20.
Nature Coast Tech (3-6) goes up against Lake Weir when they take the field next week. The Hurricanes enter the tilt sporting a 1-6 record for the season.
