Softball Recap: Anacortes Takes a Loss

Anacortes came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Lynden Lions, falling 15-1. The Seahawks haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Anacortes' defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lynden, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anacortes will head out to take on Nooksack Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Seahawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Lynden, they will venture away from home to square off against White River at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
