Preview: Belton Pirates vs. Platte County Pirates
The Belton Pirates will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Platte County Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Belton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Belton had to settle for a 54-51 loss against Raymore-Peculiar. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Belton has suffered against Raymore-Peculiar since January 9, 2015.
Despite their loss, Belton saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kordell Williams, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Williams is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Shrum, who scored 11 points.
Platte County aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Friday extended their overall winning streak to three. They walked away with a 57-46 win over Chrisman.
Belton's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Platte County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
