Basketball Game Preview: Highland Huskies vs. Wiggins Tigers

The Highland Huskies will face off against the Wiggins Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.2 points per game this season.

Wiggins better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Highland really get things going. Highland blew past Wray 65-44 on Saturday. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Eagles are ranked 159th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sawyer Morgan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. His afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Brogan Palmer was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wiggins, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They secured a 52-47 W over Platte Valley on Friday.

Highland's victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points per game. As for Wiggins, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
