Daniel faced Hillcrest in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 1-0. The win was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

The 1-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23.

Anusha Venayagamoorthy paced Daniel's offense, picking up six kills. Venayagamoorthy got some help from Lydia Chasteen and her nine assists.

Daniel's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Daniel has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Easley on the 23rd. As for Hillcrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Wren on the 26th.
