Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Carter's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Carter won the last time they faced Roosevelt and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Carter Cowboys enjoyed a cozy 56-40 win over the Roosevelt Mustangs. Given the Cowboys' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Mustangs are ranked 346th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Roosevelt lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Markell Gomillia, who posted seven points in addition to seven assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyrique Swindle, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Carter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points over those games. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 17-14.

Carter has already played their next contest, an 81-16 victory against North Dallas on the 7th. As for Roosevelt, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-49 defeat against Kimball on the 7th.
