Softball Recap: Clovis Takes a Loss

Clovis lost to Goddard on Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Rockets, falling 14-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clovis saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evelyn Rico, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Clovis' loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Goddard, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clovis will square off against Portales at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Goddard, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Artesia at 5:00 p.m. on the 14th.
