Softball Game Preview: Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors vs. St. Joseph Academy Flashes

The Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors will square off against the St. Joseph Academy Flashes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Peniel Baptist Academy 3.9, St. Joseph Academy 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Peniel Baptist Academy's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Friday's struggle, when Trinity Christian Academy hitters got past them. Peniel Baptist Academy fell 11-6 to Trinity Christian Academy on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Allison Peacock made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Traelyn Baker was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

While St. Joseph Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on First Baptist Christian Academy with a sharp 18-2 win last Thursday. Considering the Flashes have won four games by more than 15 runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for St. Joseph Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Peniel Baptist Academy skirted past St. Joseph Academy 3-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will Peniel Baptist Academy repeat their success, or does St. Joseph Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
