Baseball Recap: Pomeroy Pirates vs. Non Varsity Opponent
Pomeroy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of Non Varsity Opponent. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Non Varsity Opponent this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 on April 1st.

Corbin Nelson put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Nelson was also big at the plate, earning two runs and two stolen bases. He has become a key player for Pomeroy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise.
