Baseball Recap: Tri-Valley's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Tri-Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Prairie Central Hawks. The victory was just business as usual for the Vikings, who after four games remain undefeated this season.

Cole Klein was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Danko, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Klein wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Tri-Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Tri-Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 9.8 runs this season. As for Prairie Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Coincidentally, Tri-Valley and Prairie Central will both be playing Monticello the next time they take the field. Tri-Valley will head out to face Monticello at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Prairie Central will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
