Baseball Recap: St. John Paul II Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Archbishop McCarthy, St. John Paul II Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the ABF Academy Homestead Bandits by a score of 4-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Scotty Crowe made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five matches. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Crowe wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Connor Cavo, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave Cavo a new career-high. Derek Dohler was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. John Paul II Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ABF Academy Homestead only posted a batting average of .240.

St. John Paul II Academy's record is now 13-4-1. As for ABF Academy Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.
