Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Lincoln North Star's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Omaha Central came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Lincoln North Star, but Jordan Castor wouldn't allow it. The Lincoln North Star Navigators walked away with a 66-57 win over the Omaha Central Eagles on Tuesday thanks in part to Castor, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Lincoln North Star's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Goay Gatwech, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 13 points. Those 13 points gave him a new career-high.

Omaha Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Rodgers, who went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ike Ackerman, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Lincoln North Star is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Omaha Central, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-12.

Lincoln North Star didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-52 loss against Bellevue West on the 6th. As for Omaha Central, they will square off against Omaha Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Omaha Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.
