Football Recap: Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes vs. Hollywood Hills Spartans
After soaring to 31 points the game before, Pompano Beach was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They came up short against the Hollywood Hills Spartans, falling 27-3. The Golden Tornadoes haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Even if they lost, Pompano Beach's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Miles Walker. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Noah Julien was another major factor on D, forcing a fumble, making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defending two passes.
Hollywood Hills had a senior duo take command as Amari Isaac picked up 148 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Chase Beaton threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns. Hollywood Hills is 3-1 when Isaac posts two or more receiving touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Pompano Beach's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hollywood Hills, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pompano Beach will head out to face off against Stranahan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hollywood Hills, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Hallandale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
