Football Preview: Herriman Mustangs vs. Bingham Miners        
        
		
             Herriman is 1-9 against Bingham since August of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Friday. The Herriman Mustangs are taking a road trip to  take on the Bingham Miners  at 7:00  p.m. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 If Bingham heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Herriman took over last week. Herriman walked away with  a   26-17  victory over Riverton  on Friday.
 The critical scores for Herriman came from  Troy Ellermeier,  Macrae Parker,  and  Parker.  Bryce Benson was another key player, rushing for 80 yards.
 Herriman's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged five passes before it was all said and done. Ellermeier led the group effort, picking up three of those  interceptions all by himself. Parker is also on a roll when it comes to  total tackles, as he's  now  made five or more in the last four games he's  played dating back to last season.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Bingham, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  two weeks ago. They were the clear victor by  a  35-14 margin over Copper Hills on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Miners considering their seven-point performance the  contest before.
  Lincoln Tahi went supernova for Bingham, rushing for 233 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Tahi's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bingham was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 264  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
 Bingham's defense made their presence known, laying out   Maverick Bowles. four times. In that department,  Viliami Moala was the leader with two sacks. He is becoming a predictor of Bingham's success: when he posts  at  least two  sacks the team is 2-1 (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
 Herriman's record now sits at 2-4. As for Bingham,  the  win snapped their losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 2-4 record.
 Herriman came up short against Bingham when the teams last played  back in September of 2023, falling  47-38. Thankfully for Herriman,  Carson Sudbury (who rushed for 190 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 80 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
