Soccer Recap: Gretna East Gets the Win

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Gretna East ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Gretna Dragons 2-1. For Gretna East, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 victory Gretna walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Trey Potthoff was the driving force of Gretna East's attack as he scored both of Gretna East's goals, bringing his season total up to three goals.

The win got Gretna East back to even at 3-3. As for Gretna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Gretna East is set to challenge their familiar foe Skutt Catholic on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gretna will face off against rival Scotus at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
