Soccer Recap: Mater Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Mater Academy Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Downtown Doral Dolphins an easy 4-1 victory. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Mater Academy Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Downtown Doral, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Academy Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mater Lakes Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Downtown Doral and Reagan will compete for holiday cheer at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
