Basketball Game Preview: Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers vs. Winside Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Newman Grove/St. Edward Panthers challenge the Winside Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Newman Grove/St. Edward and 17 for Winside dating back to last season.

Newman Grove/St. Edward lost 45-24 to Madison on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Winside played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-28 defeat at the hands of Homer. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-9.

Newman Grove/St. Edward will need focus on slowing down Bridget Marotz, one of several Winside players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadleigh Schutt, who put up 13 points.

Winside's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newman Grove/St. Edward, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
