Baseball Recap: Moreau Catholic Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

While Moreau Catholic put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Mission San Jose. The Mariners came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 4-0. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Gary Elizarrey's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Moreau Catholic let Benji Fuentes and Micah Marks run wild. Fuentes went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Marks went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Marks a new career-high.

Moreau Catholic's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Mission San Jose, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Moreau Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
